In high-resolution dental CBCT systems without Patient Motion Correction (PMC) algorithms, repeat scan rates historically reached around 50%, meaning that as many as five out of every ten patients required a second acquisition. With the introduction of Dabi Atlante’s automatic motion correction technology, this rate dropped to a maximum of 10%, or approximately one repeat scan for every ten examinations, resulting in immediate operational gains and improved cost efficiency.
The impact of repeat scans goes beyond internal workflow. It also directly affects patient radiation protection. Avoiding a second acquisition helps prevent unnecessary additional exposure to ionizing radiation and supports responsible clinical and radiological practice.
