The initial phase is important to monitor tissue healing, control of inflammation, stability of the surgical site and possible signs of complications. Afterwards, monitoring begins to have another objective: preserving peri-implant health and identifying changes before they evolve.
Therefore, the postoperative period should be thought of as a clinical monitoring protocol, and not just as a list of recommendations for the patient.
